Gen-la taught at two Dharma Celebrations in addition to her public talks. One in Montreal from January 6-8 and one in Vancouver from January 13-15.
Gen-la's three public talks in the GTA were at the following locations: Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada, the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, and the City Playhouse Theatre in Vaughan.
The focus of the teachings was on the book Modern Buddhism, by renowned author and meditation master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Modern Buddhism is a special presentation of Buddha Shakyamuni's teachings on compassion and wisdom that communicates their essence in a way that is easy to understand and put into practice. Everyone can benefit from these teachings.
These teachings are especially suitable for beginners. It is an opportunity to be introduced to the heart of Buddhist practice, which need not be separate from our everyday life with family, friends and co-workers.
