Upcoming Workshop

Overcoming Anxiety

Please join us on Saturday June 22nd at 10:30 am at the Historic Town Hall in Glen Williams (Georgetown) for a life skills workshop entitled Overcoming Anxeity. In this workshop, you will learn how to

  • Recognize anxiety for what it really is
  • Examine the causes and conditions that give rise to Anxiety
  • Develop and strengthen the skillful means for first coping with, and then overcoming anxiety.

This workshop will be lead by Western Buddhist monk Kelsang Sangdrub. To register, please call us at 905 274-7432 or e-mail us at info@meditateinmississauga.org and let us know how many people will be attending. The suggested donation for this workshop is $25/person (no one will be turned away due to lack of funds). Please wear comfortable, casual clothes and bring a lunch. You may bring a yoga mat if you wish.

Learn to Meditate
Beginning May 1st, in Oakville
Training in mindfulness helps us to deal with the difficulties in our lives, by handling them more skillfully. In this series of classes you will learn the benefits of meditation, and through guided meditations, experience those benefits.

Welcome to Avalokiteshvara Kadampa Buddhist Centre (AKBC)

We are glad you've found us, and hope you find here what you are looking for, whether it be meditation classes for beginners, guided meditations, retreats, or special courses. We offer all level of Buddhist studies, books on meditation; Buddhism, helpful reference materials, and spiritual community.

Meditation is for everyone, regardless of religious background, race, ethnicity, gender, or orientation. We welcome everyone, including people of all faiths, to any of our Kadampa meditation centres throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. There are over 1,100 Kadampa meditation centres and groups worldwide.
